2024 Election Information
The American Society for Health Care Engineering is currently in the process of identifying eligible and qualified candidates (as defined by the ASHE Charter) to run for positions on the ASHE Advisory Board in the 2024 election. Submit your name using the forms linked below for consideration by 11:59 p.m. CT on Friday, March 15, 2024.
ASHE ADVISORY BOARD – PRESIDENT-ELECT
The ASHE National Nominating Committee (NNC) will be selecting the slate of candidates to run for President-elect in the 2024 election (term to start 1/1/2025). This position serves a total of three years (one year term each as 1. president-elect, 2. president, and 3. immediate past president).Eligible candidates (as defined by the ASHE Charter) have been sent the ASHE Potential President-elect Candidate Questionnaire. If you did not receive the information and believe you are eligible, please contact Jenny Hull, ASHE Elections Secretary at jhull@aha.org.
ASHE ADVISORY BOARD – ASSOCIATE MEMBER REPRESENTATIVE
The ASHE National Nominating Committee (NNC) will be selecting the slate of candidates for one of the two ASHE Advisory Board positions held by individuals representing the Associate Member category. This position is a two-year term, with one of the two Associate Member Representative seats up for election each year. The max number of terms to be served is two (four years total).If you meet the eligibility criteria (as defined by the ASHE Charter) and would like to be considered as a candidate for the ASHE Advisory Board, please complete the online form linked below. Your name and information will be submitted to the ASHE National Nominating Committee for further consideration.
After the Potential Candidate Questionnaires for President Elect and Associate Member Representative close at 11:59 p.m. CT on Friday, March 15, 2024, the following process will be followed:
- The Elections Secretary will confirm all potential candidates’ eligibility and send the confirmed list to the NNC, which is comprised of the last four ASHE Presidents with the Immediate Past-President serving as the committee chair.
- The NNC will review the potential candidates’ materials and nominate at least two eligible candidates.
- Once the slate of candidates is set, all potential candidates will be notified with the results.
- Then, the candidates will prepare their election materials, and the electronic polling process will be prepared.
- The election is tentatively scheduled to launch during the Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference.
ADVISORY BOARD MEMBER – REGIONS 1, 2, 4, 5, & 9
The ASHE Regional Nominating Committees (RNCs) will be selecting the slate of candidates to run for Regional Representative (one rep in each of the following regions: 1, 2, 4, 5, and 9) in the 2024 election (terms to start 1/1/2025). The Advisory Board Regional Representative member positions are two-year terms, with a max of two terms (four years total).Individuals residing in the following states and who meet the criteria are eligible:
Region 1: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode
Island, Vermont, American Samoa, Marshall Islands, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Quebec, all foreign countries except Canada
Region 2: Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania
Region 4: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Bahamas, Barbados, Puerto
Rico, U. S. Virgin Islands
Region 5: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio

Your name and information will be submitted to the appropriate Regional Nominating Committee for further consideration.
After the Potential Candidate Questionnaire closes at 11:59 p.m. CT on Friday, March 15, 2024, the following process will be followed:
- The Elections Secretary will confirm all potential candidates’ eligibility and send the confirmed list to the appropriate RNC, which is comprised of the chapter presidents in each region. *Note: If a chapter president is planning to run for their region’s representative seat, they will be recused from serving on their RNC.
- The RNCs will review their region’s potential candidates’ materials and nominate at least two, but no more than three, eligible candidates.
- Once the slate of candidates is set, all potential candidates will be notified with the results.
- Then, the candidates will prepare their election materials, and the electronic polling process will be prepared.
- The election is tentatively scheduled to launch during the Health Care Facilities Innovation Conference.
