Our Project
The $29.2 million renovation of Tower 2 at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission modernized the campus' oldest building, originally constructed in 1972. Spanning four levels, the project upgraded aging infrastructure, standardized nursing units and enhanced patient care spaces to promote healing and efficiency. The overhaul included replacing and enlarging 220 exterior windows and redesigning 144 patient rooms while ensuring the building remained fully operational. A phased approach allowed teams to replace plumbing stacks and building controls while maintaining safety and minimizing disruptions for the active behavioral health unit, administration offices and pharmacy. Critical upgrades to heating, ventilating and air conditioning; electrical systems; and emergency power were also executed, with zero OSHA recordable incidents reported. AdventHealth Tower 2 now reflects the system's commitment to innovation and quality health care delivery.
