ASHE announces incoming 2025 Advisory Board Members

CHICAGO — The American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE) has announced the results of the 2025 Advisory Board election. As members of the ASHE Advisory Board, these individuals will help guide the association’s strategic plan by sharing key strategic insights from the field and providing feedback on key advocacy, education and membership initiatives. Seven individuals, five of whom have previously served on the ASHE Advisory Board, will begin their terms on Jan. 1, 2025.

Dennis Ford, MHA, CHFM, CHC, FASHE, is the 2025 ASHE president-elect. Ford is the director of corporate facilities management support for Atrium Health in Charlotte, N.C., and is currently serving his second consecutive term on the ASHE Advisory Board as Region 3 Representative. He has more than 25 years of health care facilities management experience, including six years in the U.S. Air Force where he led the development of Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support – Facilities Management, a computerized maintenance management system currently in use at all U.S. military hospitals. He teaches an online course in quality, productivity and technology for the facilities management master’s program at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Mark Mochel, MBA, CHFM, PMP, ACABE, strategic account executive for Brightly, a Siemens Company, in Grand Rapids, Mich., will serve as one of two associate member representatives beginning in 2025. Before joining Brightly, Mochel was a co-founder and senior vice president at Facility Health Inc., where he was instrumental in introducing new infrastructure investment solutions and benchmarking capabilities to the health care industry. He has held executive leadership roles in multiple industries, providing a unique perspective on the challenges facing health care facility management today.

The entire eligible ASHE membership votes on president-elect and associate member representative candidates. In addition, members vote on regional representatives, who serve their specific geographic region. The following individuals are the new ASHE Advisory Board regional representatives:

Region 1 Representative: Edmund Lydon, MHA, CHFM, CHEP, FASHE, senior director of facilities and support services at Northeast Hospital Corporation, a Member of Beth Israel Health in Beverly, Mass., who previously served in that role from 2015 to 2018. Lydon has more than 25 years of health care facilities management experience, encompassing acute care, regional medical centers and community-based hospitals. Lydon has served in leadership roles on several ASHE volunteer groups, including the Education Committee, Editorial Advisory Group and the Patient Experience Task Force. He is also a surveyor for The Joint Commission and has worked as a consultant in health care facilities survey preparedness.

Region 2 Representative: Laurie Anseth, MSL, CHFM, SASHE, system maintenance and engineering director for JLL at Main Line Health in Radnor, Penn., who will serve a second consecutive term on the Advisory Board. Prior to her current role, Anseth worked for the Allina Health system, serving as co-chair for the Allina Facility Management and Energy Management Team, and for JLL as Northern California Regional Director at Adventist Health. She has served extensively on ASHE volunteer committees including the Career Development Committee, Women’s Networking Task Force, Succession Planning Committee, Skilled Labor Task Force, Chapter Relations Advisory Committee, Peer to Peer Networking Task Force and the Chapter Leadership Forum Task Force.

Region 4 Representative: Lotoya Beard, MBA, CHFM, executive director of hospital maintenance for UAB Hospital at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, who will serve a second consecutive term on the Advisory Board. Beard brings deep experience in strategic planning, team leadership and regulatory compliance from more than 10 years in the health care facilities management field. She is also active with the Alabama Society for Healthcare Engineering and serves as chair of the chapter’s Resolution Committee.

Region 5 Representative: Donald Page, MBA, CHFM, director of facilities at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind., who will serve a second consecutive term on the Advisory Board. Through his 14 years at Good Samaritan Hospital, Page has overseen biomedical engineering, plant operations and general maintenance. He has also managed construction and renovation projects for the hospital, including the construction of a new, five-story patient tower, a new central energy plant and education center. He is involved in the Indiana Society of Healthcare Engineers (ISHE), an ASHE Chapter, and previously served on the ISHE board in various capacities, including as president in 2021.

Region 9 Representative: Narsimha Irrinki, MS, PE, CHFM, SASHE, enterprise director of facilities at Santa Clara Valley Health, in San Jose, Calif. Irrinki brings more than 30 years of experience in health care facilities management and support services and has been an active ASHE member for 20 years, serving as an advocacy liaison and on the Member Tools Task Force. He has also served as an intermittent Life Safety Code surveyor for The Joint Commission and has been working in surveyor roles for that organization for more than 20 years. In addition to his ASHE distinctions, he holds Certified Plant Engineer, Certified in Plumbing Design, and Certified Green Building Professional certifications.

ASHE Advisory Board elections are held annually and are open to all ASHE professional and associate members. Advisory Board regional representatives and two associate member candidates serve two-year terms; half of those seats are up for election each year on an alternating basis. In addition, members vote on a president-elect, who serves for one year in that role before assuming the title of president at the start of the following year.
