The Crystal Eagle Leadership Award is presented annually to a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) whose contributions have affected the health care facility management profession and made a difference to the Society. Often referred to as “ASHE’s lifetime achievement award,” this award recognizes those who have been instrumental in the creation and optimization of healing environments.
The 2016 Crystal Eagle Leadership Award is presented to Mark Kenneday, Vice Chancellor of Campus Operations at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Mark has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston in Construction Management and an MBA from UH with a concentration in Service Marketing.
In 2013, Mark served as ASHE president, working tirelessly to make strides in ASHE’s strategic imperatives: sustainability, member value, and succession planning.
With more than 30 years of experience in health care facilities management, Mark has served in various committee and board roles including President of TAHFM, Texas Association of Healthcare Facilities Management, where he now serves on their Board of Directors with emeritus status. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Association of Healthcare Engineering (AAHE).
Mark has helped develop three ASHE publications, including the Health Care Facility Commissioning Guidelines and Handbook, and continues to serve the organization as a volunteer faculty member.
