Our Project
Piedmont Atlanta Hospital Marcus Tower is a premiere destination for cardiovascular care in the Southeast that expands Piedmont’s neuro/stroke and transplant services. Rising high above Atlanta’s famed Peachtree Road, the 16-story tower brings renewed energy and prominence to the hospital site and embodies the warmth, sophistication, and innovation of 21st century Atlanta.
Guiding principles included "Support the Piedmont Way, Be a Good Neighbor and Stewardship. More than 1,200 people provided input on the vision through experience workshops and advisory meetings.
The project is scheduled to occur over a 10-year period and in two phases. When complete, Marcus Tower will provide up to 408 universally sized patient rooms for easy adaptation from acute care to ICU.
Originally scheduled to receive the first patients in August 2020, the building opened four months early, which allowed the hospital to use much-needed ICU-capable beds during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
