The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a final rule requiring new emergency preparedness requirements for 17 types of health care providers, including hospitals, critical access hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, long-term care facilities, intermediate care facilities, and rural health clinics.
